"My interests lie in the connection: bringing communities together and improving them through the wonder of plants—making sure that students understand the connection between the tomato on their plate and the journey it took to get there," said CALES senior Natasha Meehleib.

CALES alumni took a break from the conference track to reminisce on their time at the university and celebrate their roots in the RTIP.

A new scholarship endowment established by CALES alumna Karen Conde and her family will provide funding to students with military ties, as well as work to increase representation of women in leadership within professional and service careers.

Inclusive excellence fuels our mission to develop adaptive problem-solvers in a time of
incredible transformation. This fall, five CALES faculty were recognized as Women of Impact for
their work towards innovation and discovery.

More often than not, the ground-breaking science university researchers develop can linger among the pages of academic journals, but CALES faculty are working to change that.
